Health Safety Environment

From the moment Indra Krisbiantoro stepped into his role at TeamworX, he saw how the company continuously strives to improve safety standards. His mission was clear: to ensure that every worker returns home safely at the end of each day.
Indra’s first major project upon joining TeamworX in February 2023 as Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) Manager was to secure ISO 45001:2018 certification. ISO 45001:2018 represents a global benchmark for occupational health and safety management systems.
However, obtaining the ISO 45001:2018 certification is not an easy feat. Indra first conducted a thorough gap analysis, which revealed that while TeamworX already had safety procedures in place, they were far from the structured and comprehensive standards required by ISO 45001:2018.
Thus, Indra had to develop more specific safety protocols for each task, from working at heights to handling heavy machinery. Within the office, TeamworX worked closely with building management to ensure that office spaces also met all safety regulations.
"Before ISO 45001:2018, TeamworX had safety procedures, but they weren’t detailed enough," Indra explained. "So, what was different when we aimed to obtain the ISO 45001:2018 certification is that we created various procedures to make everything more organized, better documented, and clearer."
Indra’s story shows how TeamworX is continuously committed to improving workplace safety by investing in the latest safety protocols. For clients, this means partnering with a company that not only delivers project results but also ensures the highest standards of safety.
Aside from renewing the protocols, Indra had to form an internal audit team necessary to obtain the ISO 45001:2018 certification. This meant that Indra had to train the staff on the new protocols, ensuring that all members of the team — from safety officers to project managers — understood and implemented the new safety standards effectively.
Balancing project timelines with the rigorous demands of ISO 45001:2018 implementation was a challenge. Despite the difficulties, the commitment to safety never wavered. TeamworX was eventually awarded ISO 45001:2018 certification in early 2024, a milestone that marked the company’s adherence to the highest standards of workplace safety.
The results of these safety reforms were significant. Since achieving ISO 45001:2018 certification, TeamworX has had no incidents—not even a minor injury. It also opened new doors for TeamworX during tenders, as having this certification gives TeamworX a competitive edge in handling construction projects with high safety risks.
Their efforts were recognized in August 2024 when they received the prestigious SMK3 Golden Flag Award from the Ministry of Manpower, Republic Indonesia for their exemplary implementation of HSE. Many clients have already acknowledged TeamworX's efforts in preventing accidents on-site, Indra said.
Looking ahead, TeamworX aims to continue improving its safety practices. Indra mentioned his goal to receive the Zero Accident Award from the government by 2027, which would symbolise the company’s dedication to maintaining a completely accident-free workplace over the long term.
“Safety is a priority,” Indra says, speaking with conviction. “Safety is one of our core values at TeamworX. When clients trust us with their construction safety management, we guarantee the highest level of safety standards,” he said.
